28 Oct It’s grass pollen season. Did you know about the Call-To-Test service?
Grass pollen season, which runs from October to the end of December, brings a seasonal increase in asthma (including thunderstorm asthma) and hay fever.
This year it is more important than ever to manage any hay fever or asthma symptoms, as these conditions produce symptoms that are similar to COVID-19 such as a runny nose, cough or shortness of breath.
While good management, like developing and reviewing your asthma action plan with your doctor, can help prevent these, it is critical to get tested for COVID-19 if these are different to your usual symptoms.

What if an injury or disability prevents me from going to a testing site?
The Department of Health and Human Services has made a new in-home testing ‘Call-To-Test’ service available to vulnerable Victorians. The service is available state-wide to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 and will arrange for a clinician to visit the home of an eligible person and conduct the test there.
To find out if your eligible for this service, please call the COVID-19 hotline on 1800 675 398 and select option 9. This Call-To-Test service will operate from 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week.
We are all in this together and this wonderful community will get through this together.
Please stay apart, stay safe and stay kind.
